There are literally thousands of freshwater and brackish water species of fish, invertebrates, and plants that can be kept in an aquarium setting. Determining which of these to have in a community tank can be daunting. Learn as much as you can about the inhabitants you would like to keep prior to planning your aquarium setup. For each species, the required water conditions should be determined.
